Our top 5 reasons to plan a trip to Jimbaran, Bali.

From natural wonders to cultural centers and spas, it’s a great vacation spot.

Great Bali hotels spread out throughout the island, but there are a few reasons you should decide to stay in the Jimbaran area, at the far south of the island. We know there’s probably a ton of reasons to choose Jimbaran, but here are our top 5 sights and activities in the region.

1. The Jimbaran Hills Activity Valley

Imagine your favourite outdoor sports complex… in the Bali jungle. This is what you get at the Jimbaran Hills Activity Valley. There you’ll find a paintball field, a 1F2 meter climbing wall, target shooting and a rope challenge course. The Activity Valley is perfect for those days when you’re sick of lying down on the beach and you want to use some of that accumulated energy.

2. The spas and health centers

Many people go to Bali for health and beauty retreats. The Jimbaran region houses three spas: the Uluwatu at the Inter-Continental Resort, the Jamahal at the Jamahal Resort and the Ritz-Carlton Thalasso and Spa. Even though these are in hotels, you don’t need to be staying there to take advantage of their services. Jimbaran spas specialize in massages, body treatments and traditional Balinese techniques. The Uluwatu spa is set right on the beach, for the most relaxing spa experience of your life.

3. The Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park

This unique park on the Jimbaran Hill has some of the most stunning views in all of Bali. From the top of the limestone cliff, you can see the narrow band of land connecting Jimbaran with the rest of the island. You will also find an amphitheater for traditional Balinese dance shows, a temple where you can learn about Balinese beliefs, a restaurant and even an art gallery. Beautiful views and traditional Balinese culture: how great is that?

4. The food

Some of the best food in Bali can be found in Jimbaran. Go to the beach to choose your fish and see it grilled on an open fire by experienced seafood cooks. We suggest you try the garoupa, a big meaty fish with lots of flavor. Many restaurants have beachside dining settings that are really popular with tourists and locals alike. Don’t forget to try traditional steamed sweetcorns and groundnuts, sold by many beach vendors. They make a great side to any seafood dish.

5. The surf

Obviously, we couldn’t leave the surf out of this list. Jimbaran is close to some of the best surfing beaches in the world. The town abounds with surf schools and guides to some of the more remote spots in the peninsula. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced surfer, Jimbaran has a beach for you.

The region is full of natural and cultural wonders and has activities to suit every taste. In between visits to sights and activities, don’t forget to take advantage of the famous Balinese nightlife!
