The roles and responsibilities of a ski rep are several and the rep must be able to multi task on different jobs taking full care of the guests. However, the most important job responsibility of the rep is to be the smiling host to the guests so that they feel comfortable at the chalet. Reps have to take that extra effort to ensure that the skiers are happy skiing and staying at the chalet. The rep is also required to be efficient at paperwork to take care of the legal formalities of staying at the chalet. Each day as a rep may require you to betake the role of a translator, a ski host and a sales person. A rep should be a confident and outgoing person who can take care of every aspect related to skiing with a smiling face. Excellent organizational and communication skills are also required along with the ability to work in a team.

The ideal responsibilities of a ski rep include airport transfers and arranging ski equipment and gears for the guests. While the rep guides the guests to the chalet from the airport, it is a great time for introduction and acquaintance. This is the time when the rep can learn about the skiing skills of the guests, their previous experience with skiing, what are the food and wine preferences of the guests and other information that are crucial for arranging a complete skiing experience for the guests. Once the rep takes the guests to the chalet, the rep has to take care of dual responsibilities of assisting the guest s as well as the chalet owners with the guests. Here, the rep shares the information about the guests with the chalet owner so that the chalet manager does not have to ask the guests again to know their preferences. The rep also assists the chalet manager with the distribution of the chalet supplies of frozen food, fresh vegetables and bread, linen and cleaning products.

Like the chalet manager, the week of the ski rep also starts on Saturdays, as it is the transfer date for the chalet. New guests arrive and old guests leave so the rep has to do dual airport duties of bringing new guests from the airport to the chalet and taking the weeklong guests from the chalet to the airport. The week that follows is a hectic one with the guests skiing and snowboarding on the different slopes according to their skiing expertise. The week also means making the ski experience a memorable one for the guests and looking forward to solving any inconvenience that the guests might face. The rep also has to arrange for the suitable ski instructor for the guests according to their skiing expertise and suggest the best slopes for skiing. Suggestions might also range from which are the best restaurants and which is the wine that is thought best in the region.

This is the general weekly schedule of a ski rep until Friday arrives. Friday is generally a calm day as it is the last day of the week, as the guests will be leaving the next day. The week continues with the usual commotion of Saturday.
